Play Lovatts new CAL-Kuro Puzzle

Hi Lovatts Puzzlers,

Jessie here from YouPlay - dropping by with the exciting news that you can now play Lovatts CAL-kuro puzzles FREE at www.youplay.com!

But Jessie - what on earth is CAL-kuro and WHY should I be excited?
Firstly, Lovatts CAL-kuro is a logic puzzle inspired by the popular KenKen ® and Kendoku ® puzzles originally created by Japanese maths teacher Tetsuya Miyamoto. You may have solved a KenKen ® puzzle in your daily newspaper, or played the game online.

Secondly, CAL-kuro is just as addictive as KenKen ® and shares several characteristics with other logic puzzles featured in Lovatts magazines and on YouPlay including Sudoku, Kakuro and Addoku. If you’re already a fan of this style of puzzle, make way for a new addiction. Once you start playing CAL-kuro online at www.youplay.com well [sigh], days may pass before you surface again!

Thirdly, also known as Kashikoku-Naru-Puzzle in Japanese, KenKen ® literally means “a puzzle that makes you smarter.” That’s right, solving a daily CAL-kuro is a healthy hobby that will give your mind a real workout. (And I’m led to believe that CALkuro puzzles are also a lot tastier than a spoon full of fish oil…)

At YouPlay.com we feature five levels of CAL-kuro: Easy, Medium, Hard, Evil and Extreme - there’s a puzzle to suit every player. Even better, our daily CAL-kuro puzzles are absolutely free to play!

Lovatts Website - Online Puzzles Update

May 1, 2009 by Online Manager

The new Lovatts website now organised in a blogging format, provides puzzlers with an easy way to provide feedback and comments on the magazines and website content.

Since the launch of the new Lovatts website we have experienced minor problems in relation to some of the new online daily puzzles. A few puzzlers have noted that the Daily Crossword didn’t update at midnight as it previously had. One very keen late night puzzler was waiting at midnight for his usual fix of online crosswords and reluctantly had to give up the wait at 2am.

We have hopefully rectified this problem by replacing the current Daily Crossword, Sudoku and Wordsearch with the original code from the old site. All other online puzzles should function as they previously had prior to the launch.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this issue may have caused and will continue to listen to our faithful puzzlers to continually improve the site for all fans of Lovatts Puzzles and magazines.

If you have any feedback in regards to how we can improve this website or the Lovatts range of puzzle magazines please provide us with your comments on the appropriate posts throughout the site and we will do our very best to respond to your feedback.

Happy Puzzling
