Dust if you Must!

I have always loved poetry and over the years have collected poems of all sorts. The other day, I decided to have a good clean out and came across this poem. I thought you might get a laugh at ‘my version’ on the bottom!! Hope you enjoy it.

Dust if you must but wouldn’t it be better
To paint a picture, or write a letter
Bake a cake, or plant a seed
Ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must but there’s not much time
With rivers to swim and mountains to climb
Music to hear and books to read
Friends to cherish and a life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world’s out there
With the sun in your eyes and the wind in your hair
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain
This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind
Old age will come and it’s not kind
And when you go and go you must
You yourself will make more dust.

Remember a house becomes a home
When you can write I love you
On the furniture!!!

And ‘my version’

Dust if you must, but there is a lot of pleasure
In solving crosswords at your leisure
Leave the dust, and just for good measure

Symply too good to be true

I love to collect recipes and am always on the lookout for new ones. So many thanks for the recipes you included in June and July BIG. They’re uncomplicated, economical and a delicious treat for the tastebuds. It’s an added bonus and to me is just as good as winning a prize. Is this something we can look forward to each month or just a one-off thing?

Love the cover!

What a beautiful cover photograph for the May 2009 BIG Crossword magazine. Just had to write and tell you what pleasure it gives me, so thank you.

I’m in my eighties, living alone, and my body is not so active, but my mind enjoys the stimulation from the magazines so much. What clever people Lovatts have to create these puzzles.

Lovely Suprise!

I received a lovely surprise in the mail today, one address book and keyring, a prize for being successful in Jan BIG Wordygig. These are fun doing, not always easy to find the outcome! Just before Christmas I won a soft ‘neck pillow’ so am feeling all the hours spent, head down, and on the internet have been worthwhile. I’m now hard at it with the Feb. BIG and looking forward to the next Holiday book too.! Thanks so much for all the hours of entertainment. Keep up your good work. Regards to all who create all the wonderful puzzles.
