Lovatts Publishing Group is Australia and New Zealand’s leading crossword and puzzle company.
Established in 1978 by husband and wife team, James and Christine, Lovatts boast an impressive total of 20 regular crossword and puzzle publications, most of which rank among the top-selling titles in their category.
English-born nurse Christine first met fellow countryman James while she was working in Cairns, North Queensland. Within a couple of years they were married and settled in Sydney putting together Australia’s largest crossword, the mighty Colossus.
To this day Lovatts Colossus Crosswords remains their most popular title with thousands of regular readers keen to pit their wits against Christine’s fiendish clues.
Lovatts Publishing is still a family owned and operated business, with son Patrick now running the day-to-day operation. The magazines can be found in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, and South Africa plus throughout Europe, Asia and the Pacific.
In Australia, Lovatts puzzles challenge readers of many top titles including Womans Day, Womens Weekly, TV Week, NW, and Super Food Ideas. And if you’re flying Qantas, you can tackle a Lovatts puzzle in their monthly in-flight magazine.

In August 2007 Lovatts launched YouPlay.com, an online puzzles and games site to cater for the ever-growing interest in internet entertainment.
