Mother’s Day is here again, a time to appreciate your mother or to put your feet up and be spoilt, if you are one. Most mothers can remember the moment they first became a mother, that instant when a woman holds her first child in her arms and realises that her life will never be quite the same again. And I’m no exception. I can clearly remember that moment 30 years ago, when Patrick arrived and turned me into a mother, followed closely by Dominic and then Kathleen. Being a mother has its challenges - plenty of sleepless nights, pacing the floor soothing a sick child or worrying...
